What You Are:

The Facility Tech (FT) supports their museum site and Production, Construction, and Events for their site in partnership with the Facilities Manager (FM). You will receive deliverables from the Management Team and General Management, with responsibilities that intersect with operations and respond to the maintenance ticketing system.

While much of the heavier work happens on museum reset days, the FT will play an active role during daily operations to troubleshoot smaller issues with equipment and the building, as well as assist the FM in project execution for larger jobs, repairs and maintenance during pre open and after close shifts. This role directly reports to the on-site Facilities Manager (FM).

Your day-to-day:

  • Complete task list in Daily Binder
  • Order cleaning supplies as needed + control and distribute products to Clean team
  • Repair current and outstanding items and make educational predictions of facility needs for events and resets
  • Responsive and up-to-date on all email and Slack communications
  • Responsible for preventive maintenance weekly (including painting, patching, light plumbing/electrical, diagnosing equipment, organization, cleaning etc.)
  • Takes inventory of supplies that are delivered to FM weekly
  • Responsible for shipping and receiving of facility supplies
  • Ensures compliance with Facilities uniform
  • Cognizant and participates in fire watch when alarms are down
  • Organization of storage, mechanical closets.
  • Cleanliness of outside area and ownership of trash
  • Ownership of hourly cleaning sheet
  • Must work days of Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday,
  • Option to accept on call work (opt in / opt out)
  • Make sure checklists are complete and museum is show ready
  • Must be willing to work Late nights early mornings depending on the project
  • Fill out and turn in daily reports

The hourly wage for this role is $18 -$21 USD based on experience.

Essential Job Functions

    • Standing and walking on your feet for long periods of time, up to 8 hours
    • Bend/lift heavy objects of up to 40 pounds

Qualification

High School or equivalent
