JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Manager -Team Leader, Pre-Opening Revenue Management Operations for the US & Canada is the business leader within the Hotel Openings & Transitions Department who provides oversight to pre-opening and conversion projects, new brand integration, and development of processes and implementation of systems and tools used by the new hotels and brands. This Senior Team Leader provides leadership to the US & Canada Revenue Management team and acts as main point of contact for special projects, including development of consistent deliverables. The Senior Team Leader works closely with US & Canada Revenue Management Leadership, Omaha Loading Support partners and Revenue Management Field Support to maximize property objectives and priorities. This role manages the opening pipeline to verify projected staffing needs are met and lead hotels to strong opening on the book's success. The Senior Team Leader is part of the US & Canada Continent Lodging Services (CLS) team and will report to the Director, Hotel Openings, Sales, Marketing
Revenue Management, US & Canada.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required: 4-year Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management or related major OR equivalent experience/certification from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired
5 years of progressively responsible work experience, preferably in Revenue Management and/or Sales & Marketing
Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and SharePoint, as well as the ability to navigate quickly through these programs to help produce results in a timely manner
Strong working knowledge of HPP, OneYieldv2, and MARSHA
Strong project management experience as well as management of direct reports
Full-Service hotel experience or knowledge of operations across all disciplines
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time
Preferred: Multi-brand experience preferred Ability to work as a team leader to achieve results in a teamwork environment
Ability to lead a remote team
Manages group or interpersonal conflict situations effectively
Ability to negotiate and create win-win situations
Ability to make sound decisions and recommendations.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Deliver Results
Manage the hiring, training, and on-going development of the Team (e.g. Revenue Managers and Inventory Managers) as well as forecasting based on opening pipeline for the accurate revenue management staffing needs.
Responsible for the recruitment and onboarding of all new Revenue Managers, providing on the job observations and coaching to ensure consistent training across the team.
Contribute to forecasting, critiques, and budget management of the unit's Profit & Loss (P&L) statement for the Pre-Opening Revenue Management organization.
Communicate and set effective goals and Main Business Objectives (MBOs) for Revenue Managers and Inventory Managers, ensuring accountability in achieving these goals.
Oversee all activities and responsibilities for pre-opening hotels in US & Canada, including all departments that interact with the reservation and revenue management systems per region.
Monitors the performance of Revenue Management team members to ensure the needs of the customer are met.
Ability to work with all levels of the Regional Office (Sales, Revenue, Area Directors, Area Vice President, and Regional Sales/Revenue) as well as with Marriott Franchise partners in region to execute the pre-opening sales/revenue strategy.
Lead the team in managing pre-opening hotels and Phase I through opening Revenue training and Revenue turnover as needed.
Work with all Opening and Transition Leadership in distributing projects needed for all hotels and brand conversions within the organization for pre-opening revenue support.
Communicate with partners in EPIC, HPP, One Yield, MARSHA Help Desk, and Omaha Reservation activation support in pre-initializing hotels and activating hotels into pre-sell.
Execute any brand development, such as new brands, system changes and initiatives that impact Revenue Management for pre-opening hotels.
Communicate and educate Revenue Management philosophies to new Franchise Owners and their representatives.
Ability to travel to hotels overseeing the team members' performance as well as to manage the opening process from a pre-opening revenue management standpoint.
Conducts observations of Revenue team members and delivers timely feedback to develop their skills and abilities.
Customize, execute, and maintain Critical Paths for Revenue Management.
Enforces MIP-44 travel guidelines to process individual expense reports in accordance with company guidelines to ensure timely reimbursements and cost recovery.
Lead Change
Provides oversight to pre-opening and conversion projects, new brand integration, and development of processes and implementation of systems and tolls used by the new hotels and brands.
Utilizes technology to analyze business processes and create efficiencies within the Pre-Opening Revenue Management organization.
Evaluates and adapts the structure of assignments and work processes to best fit the needs and/or support the goals of the organization.
Provides business knowledge and expertise to project based business and new product development for the Revenue Management team, including design, testing, roll-out, change management, and training.
Communicates status of new product development, including new brand integrations to the leadership team.
Acts as main point of contact for special projects, including development of consistent deliverables.
Gathers and organizes information using a logical and systematic process to recognize any opportunities within the Revenue Management team and identifies alternative solutions.
Provides input to enhance and develop tools for better and more efficient analysis.
Prepares Revenue Strategy meeting agenda, supporting documentation, and facilitation of the meeting (jointly at Revenue and Marketing Planning (RAMP) or via webinar)
Manage funnel of pre-opening hotels being supported.
Conducts revenue strategy analysis with pre-opening hotels from their activation sell date in MARSHA until the hotel opening.
Activation of One Yield initializing for pre-opening hotels and execution of training and setup for hotel and revenue management leaders for the assigned property.
Communicates proactively with properties regarding rate restrictions and strategy.
Assists hotels with pricing strategies and provides input on business evaluation recommendations.
Complete full turnover process at opening to RMRS or to property/area Revenue Manager.
Execute and hold accountable the Revenue Management Opening Critical Path tasks assigned to each new opening hotel.
Partner with Pre-Opening Sales/Marking Manager on attending RAMP Meetings & Webinars as needed.

Colorado Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $96,038.00 to $190,154.00 annually.
Hawaii Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $116,205.00 to $209,169.00 annually.
New York Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $96,038.00 to $209,169.00 annually.
Washington Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $96,038.00 to $209,169.00 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus. Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
